The Door County Historical Society will host its Saturday afternoon yesteryear program “The History of Whitetails Unlimited,” presented by Russ Austad, on Saturday, October 5 at 1:00 pm in the Collins Learning Center at Cross Roads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay.
Russ will lead a presentation about the history of Whitetails Unlimited; from humble beginnings to the multi-million organization that it is today.
A native of Sturgeon Bay, Russ graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. He is an avid outdoorsman. As the Program Services Director at Whitetails Unlimited, Russ is responsible for overseeing the process of grant applications and growing the mission of Whitetails Unlimited.
Russ will share the mission of Whitetails Unlimited, their initiatives that support their mission, and projects that they care currently involved in.
This special yesteryear program has no admission charge but participants are encouraged to consider giving a small donation. The Heritage Village and Vignes School are located at 2041 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay. The Heritage Village is open for self-guided tours prior to the presentation beginning at 10:00 am and after the presentation until 3:00 pm; the adult admission fee is $6.50 and a donation for youth admission is appreciated.
