Greetings!

Josh and Dion are getting close to wrapping up the immediate stabilization work for Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. Next week will probably be their last week here. They first arrived April 24 and have done amazing work on the lighthouse. It has been a long time since it looked so good. Josh and Dion have become part of our lighthouse family. It will seem strange when they are not here most days of the week. Many thanks to Josh, Dion, John Fletcher and his brother Josh who was here the first days in April.

Next week will be spent finishing up remaining tasks. The stone sills for the windows will be getting white paint. One item that will be noticeable will be the painting of the foundation parging with breathable paint in a shade of grey that will compliment the rest of the lighthouse. The second floor windows will be getting shutter dogs to replace the plastic pipe now used to keep the shutters open. Shutter dogs are hardware on the wall at the bottom of the shutters to keep them open and make it easy to close them. Install water diverters at the edge of the roof where the roof meets the tower wall. This will keep runoff from saturating the masonry. Paint the railing in the tower.

And thank you to Kurt Fosburg for removing the Fresnel lens from the lantern so it would not be damaged during the work on the lantern, reinstalling it after the lantern work was completed and then restoring it so wonderfully.
