Donating Historic Objects, Documents, and Photographs

The Door County Historical Society carefully considers donations of objects, documents, and photographs that help interpret our historic sites and tell the stories of Door County’s past. We seek items with a strong local connection that enhance our existing buildings, programs, or planned exhibits.

To ensure the quality and relevance of our collection, all acquisitions must:

  1. Align with our mission and priorities
  2. Be properly documented and acknowledged
  3. Be stored and cared for appropriately
  4. Be in a condition that allows for preservation or reasonable restoration
  5. Be available for research, education, or display*
