Greetings!
It was remarkable day at the lighthouse.
The first order of business was reinstalling the screen in the inlet of the vent ball in the lantern room. This needed to be done, before the lens could be returned and helps to ventilate the room.
Next, the Fresnel lens was uncrated and carried back into the lantern room. Once there, Kurt Fosburg did a complete restoration and cleaning and installed three missing prism elements. Unfortunately, the heat in the lantern room make for some uncomfortable working conditions, but Kurt made it happen.
The rental company came to pick up the lift. Josh and Dion continued with masonry repairs and worked on scraping and painting the outside of the last window.
The restored lens looks incredible thanks to Kurt.
