Greetings!
It was a pleasant surprise to see a WPS crew at the lighthouse this morning. They were checking out the power connections and plan to install the new transformer at Welker’s Point campground tomorrow. I asked one of the guys if that means the power would be energized tomorrow. He said they were waiting on an inspection report. I told him that inspections are not done by the municipality in the state park. I said that had all been cleared through Mike LeClair at Baylake Electric. The WPS guy said he would follow up. He later told me he talked with Mike and everything should be a go to energize tomorrow, Wednesday.
I will be meeting Mike LeClair at the lighthouse Thursday morning at 0630 so he can finish up his end of the electrical work.
I have been talking with John Fletcher. He planned on having Josh and Dion back at the lighthouse today. They were still working up at Eagle Harbor Light on Lake Superior when John and I talked this afternoon. I suggested that perhaps they wait until next week when electricity should be available in case they need power. John will check with Josh to see what works for him and Dion. If they plan on being at Eagle Bluff tomorrow it will not be until late morning. I will probably not be there until sometime after 2 pm as I have a commitment at The Ridges tomorrow.
There are lots of flies in the lantern. I hope they do not make a mess of the Fresnel Lens. The windows will surely need cleaning once the flies are gone.
