From the Keeper’s Desk – April 28

Greetings!

This morning’s focus was on painting and carpentry, both inside and out at the Eagle Bluff Light Station.

Jeanne and Bob spent the morning prepping the office/music room for painting, with Beth scheduled to join the effort later this afternoon. It’s exciting to watch the interior take on a fresh, new look as part of our restoration. The team plans to continue painting tomorrow morning.

Outside, Laaksonen Builders began framing the new summer kitchen. Mike and Billy successfully raised the two long walls before a noon thunderstorm brought work to a halt. Even with just the side walls in place, it’s already possible to get a sense of the summer kitchen’s footprint. They’ll return tomorrow to continue the project.
