From the Keeper’s Desk – May 13

Greetings!

It was another eventful day at Eagle Bluff Light Station.

Soon the painting will be finished in the parlor and our painters will be moving back upstairs to paint the small bedroom. With the painting of the small bedroom the only room we will not be able to get done before opening on May 23 is the big second floor bedroom. It will have to be done later. A lot more painting got done than we expected to have done at this point in time. Thank you Beth, Jeanne and Bob. It looks amazing.

Outside we see incredible progress on the barn. Today was the fifth day since our exceptional builders started the framing on the barn. Hard to believe that all the rafters have been installed and first thing Wednesday they will be putting on the plywood roof sheathing. Thanks to Mike, Billy and Cory for some masterful carpentry.

    Thanks for sharing.
    The barn floor looks awesome.
We were there the day they pressed the wood design into the concrete.
We had never seen that technique before.
    It looks fantastic!
The progress is wonderful to follow.
    Thank you!
