From the Keeper’s Desk – June 4

Greetings!

Today was all about painting battens for the barn siding, sanding the roof of the oil house to prep it for painting and siding on the west end of the summer kitchen.

We had 100 battens to paint and finished them all.

The oil house will finally get its rightful red paint. We know it is red because it said so in the 1909 Lighthouse Service Inspection Report.

The summer kitchen now has siding on the west end.

Next big activity is dipping all the cedar shakes for the barn upper siding.
