From the Keeper’s Desk – June 24

Greetings!

The dream team of Billy, Deion, Josh and Mike were back at it again today.

Mike and Billy installed blocking between the joists in the barn to hide the insulation. The 1 x 6 vertical paneling boards will go behind the blocking and a horizontal trim board will go at the top of the vertical boards below the blocking for the finish look. They really thought this through.

They moved outside to continue installing shingles on the barn. They would have gotten closer to finishing but rain made for a shortened work day.

Josh and Deion sanded shelves and the ceiling in the oil house before giving them the first coat of black paint. Once the shelves are finished the walls will be painted with a breathable white paint. When they finish it will look like when it was newly built.

Chuck installed the doors he made at the access openings to the area behind the second floor knee walls. There already was an opening in the second floor closet but it was way too small for someone to get through without risking getting stuck so Chuck enlarged it. There was no access opening on the other side of the lighthouse so Chuck made one in the second floor bedroom. These are necessary for the electrician to install conduit for wiring on the second floor and later for installing insulation.

Mike and Ed met Jude to work out a plan for the sidewalk concrete work.
