From the Keeper’s Desk – June 25

Greetings!

It was a very eventful day at EBLS.

By the time I arrived at 9:30 this morning the Park folks cut the grass. They helped Mike and Billy move the rest of the siding that was on the grass west of the barn to the fenced area at the summer kitchen. That enabled them to cut grass in what we used as our painting area to be cut. It really looks good now. Thanks to the Park folks.

Josh and Deion spent the day putting mortar back in the oil house joints where they previously ground out bad mortar. The oil house is looking fantastic.

The crew from Mike’s Watertite Seamless Gutters was back to reinstall the gutters that had to be taken down when the roofers installed the metal roof. They used brackets that were installed on the fascia board to support the gutters. They also installed the downspouts.

Mike and Billy finished installing the last of the shingles on the barn. The barn is looking very historical.
