From the Keeper’s Desk – June 30

Greetings!

On this last day of June there was activity on lots of fronts.

Josh and Deion keep working away on replacing bad mortar on the oil house. It might seem to be an endless task and they are getting closer to finishing. It has not looked this good for a long time. They are anxious to get back to work on the privy.

Billy and Mike were installing the 1 x 6 paneling boards in the summer kitchen. Mike measures, cuts the boards to length and cuts boards for window openings and electrical boxes. Billy nails the boards in place almost as fast as Mike cuts them. They got the ceiling and two walls done today. Two more walls to go.

Our electricians from Action Electric returned today to begin wiring the lighthouse proper. Chuck and Ed walked through the lighthouse with Mike M, Frankie and Mateo confirming where outlets and switches will be going. Frankie and Mateo began by starting work in the basement.
