Join us for a captivating journey into the lives and legacies of Door County’s original inhabitants! On Saturday, July 26 at 11:30am, we’re honored to welcome author Michaela Kraft to Heritage Village for a special book reading and signing of her newly released work, First Peoples of Door County.

This isn’t just a book event—it’s an experience. Michaela will read selections from her book, bringing to life the stories, traditions, and resilience of the Native peoples who first called this land home. She’ll also share insights into the research process behind the book, how she unearthed oral histories and archival materials, and the thoughtful design and implementation of the First Peoples exhibit now on display at Heritage Village.
Whether you’re a lifelong learner, local history enthusiast, or simply curious about the deep roots of our region, this event offers a rare opportunity to connect with Door County’s past in a meaningful way.
📚 Books will be available for purchase and signing.
🪶 Program is free with a paid admission to Heritage Village.
