From the Keeper’s Desk – August 21

Greetings!

Today it was all about grading and stone borders around buildings.

Mike and Billy finished installing the pressure treated edging for the borders first thing this morning.

Griffin put two coats of antique sealer on the wood stamped concrete barn ramp. It looks fantastic.

Bryson did a lot of grading and placing river rock at the building borders. Blair came later to help him.

With the higher elevation of the sidewalk by the barn the donation tube would have been too low so it had to come out. As long as it was out it was put in a more strategic location along the walk, just before the barn ramp.

The planter kiosk had to be moved so the area it was in could be filled with river rock. We discovered that the planter box was starting to rot so the decision was made to cut off the sign part and get rid of the rest. The marigolds were rescued and planted in other containers.

The new sidewalks look great. After some more grading tomorrow we should be ready to reopen Saturday. Next thing is to get grass seed planted in the bare areas.
