Seeking Nonprofit Participants for Christmas Event

The Door County Historical Society is excited to invite local nonprofits to be part of our 3rd Annual Glimpse of Christmas Past at Heritage Village! This holiday tradition has quickly become a community favorite and we’d love for your organization to help make this year’s celebration even more special.

Seven of our historic buildings at Heritage Village are available for adoption. The first seven nonprofits to sign up will each be assigned a building to decorate—inside and out—for the season. There is no participation fee, though each group is responsible for its own decorations and supplies.

We encourage your team to get creative while keeping decorations in the 1880–1910 time period. If that feels unfamiliar, don’t worry—our team will provide historical resources and ideas to help guide your design.

During each Friday and Saturday evening in December, Heritage Village will be open for free tours. Visitors will vote for their favorite decorated building. Dollars equal votes, with proceeds split 50/50 between your organization and the Historical Society. The top-earning building will be announced as the winner at the end of the season—a festive way to raise awareness, celebrate the season, and support your mission.

Nonprofits interested in participating should RSVP by November 1. Buildings are assigned on a first-come basis, and decorations must be completed by Wednesday, December 3 at 4:00 p.m.
