A Few Spots Still Open for Nonprofits to Join Our “Glimpse of Christmas Past”!

The Door County Historical Society is excited to invite local nonprofits to take part in our 3rd Annual Glimpse of Christmas Past at Heritage Village! This beloved holiday tradition has quickly become a community favorite—and we still have a few openings available for nonprofits to participate and decorate one of our historic buildings.

If you know of an organization that would like to get involved, now’s the time! Seven of our buildings are available for adoption, and only a few remain unclaimed. Each nonprofits will each be assigned a building to decorate—inside and out—for the season. There’s no participation fee, though each group provides its own decorations and supplies.

We encourage creative, festive designs that reflect the 1880–1910 time period. If that’s new to you, don’t worry—our team will share historical resources and inspiration to help bring your vision to life.

Throughout Friday and Saturday evenings in December, Heritage Village will be open for free public tours. Visitors will vote for their favorite decorated building—dollars equal votes—with proceeds split 50/50 between each organization and the Historical Society. The top-earning building will be announced as the winner at the end of the season, making this a fun and meaningful way to celebrate the holidays while raising awareness and funds for each nonprofit’s cause.

If you’d like to join, please RSVP by November 1. Buildings are assigned on a first-come basis, and decorations must be completed by Wednesday, December 3 at 4:00 p.m.

Help us create another magical holiday season at Heritage Village—and support your mission while doing it!
