Some of Door County’s most fascinating natural wonders aren’t found on top of the bluffs or along the shoreline—they’re hidden within the cliffs themselves.
Join us on July 27 for our next Dine & Discover Program as local historian and outdoor enthusiast Gary Soule takes us on a fascinating journey into the Caves of Door County. From well-known sea caves to lesser-known geological formations tucked away along the peninsula, Gary will share the stories, history, geology, and exploration of these remarkable natural features.
The program will be held at the Institute Saloon, where you can enjoy a delicious meal before the presentation. It’s the perfect opportunity to spend an evening with other history enthusiasts while learning about one of Door County’s most intriguing—and often overlooked—natural resources.
For centuries, the peninsula’s caves have inspired curiosity and adventure. Some have served as landmarks for mariners, others have become favorite destinations for hikers and kayakers, while many remain largely unknown to all but a handful of explorers. Gary’s presentation will feature photographs, historical accounts, and personal experiences that bring these hidden places to life.
Whether you’ve paddled past the famous sea caves, wondered what lies beneath the towering limestone bluffs, or simply enjoy learning something new about Door County, this program promises to offer fresh perspectives on the landscape we thought we knew.
As always, Dine & Discover combines great food, engaging speakers, and the opportunity to connect with others who share a passion for Door County’s history, culture, and natural heritage.
Space is limited, so reserve your seat today. We look forward to seeing you at the Institute Saloon for an evening of good food, great company, and an unforgettable exploration of Door County’s hidden caves.
