Receiving this award would be meaningful in any year, but receiving it as DCHS celebrates its 100th anniversary makes this moment especially remarkable. For a century, people throughout Door County have given their time, talents, resources, stories, artifacts, photographs, knowledge, and enthusiasm to help preserve our shared history.
This award belongs to all of them—and to all of you who continue that work today.
Christian Overland, Ruth & Hartley Barker Director and chief executive officer of the Wisconsin Historical Society, will present the award, joined by Wisconsin Historical Society staff and members of its Board of Curators.
We hope Heritage Village will be filled with DCHS members, volunteers, donors, community partners, history lovers, friends, neighbors, and anyone who simply loves Door County.
There’s no ticket. There’s no admission charge. Just come and celebrate with us!
Following the presentation, we’ll have cake and refreshments and an opportunity to enjoy this milestone together.
