Step back in time and celebrate the start of a new season at Heritage Village! The Door County Historical Society invites everyone to join the Opening Day Celebration on Saturday, May 31, from 10 AM to 3 PM. This free, family-friendly event is the perfect way to explore the rich history of Door County while enjoying a day filled with activities, food, and community fun.
Stroll through the Village and tour its beautifully preserved historic buildings, where interpreters will bring the past to life with fascinating stories and demonstrations. Enjoy hands-on activities like historic games, live demonstrations, and lively music that will make history feel more alive than ever.

Treat yourself to delicious offerings from local food trucks and a bake sale filled with homemade goodies. Plus, new this year, the Vintage/Makers Market—a special shopping experience featuring vintage finds, artisan creations, and handcrafted goods. Vendors are still being accepted, so if you’re interested in showcasing your work, please call 920-421-2332 or email office@doorcountyhistoricalsociety.org.
Come celebrate the past, connect with the community, and enjoy a day of fun at Heritage Village’s Opening Day! All are welcome. While admission is free, donations are always appreciated to support the ongoing preservation of Door County’s history.
