Celebrating Dedication at Eagle Bluff Light Station

At our annual end-of-the-season celebration, the Eagle Bluff Light Station Committee gathered for a special luncheon at the White Gull Inn to reflect on a season of progress and preservation. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate the volunteers whose dedication keeps this historic site thriving.

A highlight of the afternoon was recognizing Myrv Somerhalder for his 14 years of commitment to Eagle Bluff Light Station and the committee. Myrv’s passion for preserving the lighthouse and sharing its history has left a lasting impact on our organization and the community.

Patti Podges, former lighthouse site manager, recalled recruiting Myrv to help at the lighthouse and marveled at his knowledge of the site. Amy Frank, executive director of the Door County Historical Society, shared, “Myrv’s dedication and passion for Eagle Bluff Light Station have been truly inspiring. His commitment has not only preserved this historic site but has also helped foster a sense of pride and connection for everyone who visits.”

We are deeply grateful for Myrv’s years of service and for the contributions of all our committee members. As we look ahead to future restoration efforts, your support helps ensure that Eagle Bluff Light Station continues to shine for generations to come. Donations make a real difference in preserving this historic treasure.
