From the Keeper’s Desk – August 19

Greetings!

Josh Fletcher brought the new spires for the privy and they were installed. Now the privy looks like it did in the historical pictures. Deon finished painting the steps and hand railing in the tower. The remaining lower window sashes in the lighthouse were removed for the fabricator to turn them into divided light sashes. Plexiglas was installed in the window openings along with a screen to allow for ventilation. Josh Fletcher is hoping the window sash modifications can be completed in two weeks and they will be back at that time to install them. In the meantime they are off to Crisp Point Lighthouse in upper Michigan for work there.

Jude and his crew finished setting forms and placing gravel in them. Concrete was not poured today because the earliest he could get concrete delivered today was 4 pm. He said the cement truck should be here Wednesday morning at 10 am. He plans to pour all the concrete.

Pressure treated 2 x 4’s were delivered for the river rock borders around the buildings.
