From the Keeper’s Desk – August 28

Greetings!

Our landscape crew worked really hard today preparing the ground and laying down grass seed. They placed a straw mat over what they seeded. The crew will finish up Friday morning what they did not get done today. They are doing a terrific job.

Wulf Brothers was here to install the heat pump split system in the barn. It will provide heating when it is cold, cooling when it is hot and dehumidification when the humidity is too high. Nice job Tyler. Our ace electrician Frankie from Action Electric did the electrical connections to the heat pump.

There was a popple tree that snapped in the big wind of Aug 9. It was by the parking lot end of the sidewalk. It had hung up in an adjacent spruce tree. Thanks to the Park crew that took it down and hauled the brush away.

Yesterday Chuck put a first coat of paint on the lighthouse basement steps. He installed Plexiglas in the two barn hayloft stairwell windows.

And thanks to our intrepid painters for keeping up with all the odds and ends.

It was a beautiful day at Eagle Bluff Light Station. Visitors on a bus tour enjoyed a guided group with Ann Sheridan.
