Greetings!
Linda, Amy, Ann, Sandy, John, Daulton and Ed got the lighthouse closed for the season. Many things were moved to the barn for off season storage. Next year we should not have to do that as the lighthouse will have the new HVAC system operating and we can maintain a minimum temperature over winter. The barn will be temperature controlled.
Ed was working outside most of the time and neglected to get pictures of all the hard work Linda, Amy, Ann and Sandy got done inside the lighthouse.
The yellow tape along the sidewalks came down this morning and Ed felt a sense of accomplishment doing it. That meant that the new grass had nicely filled in the once bare area that was landscaped earlier. For that reason there are a number of pictures that show the lighthouse station minus the yellow tape.
John cut the remaining base of the tree next to the sidewalk at the parking lot closer to the ground. Might be a good place to put a pot of geraniums next spring.
Work continues on the HVAC installation. Next up is insulation work followed by painting of the patches for access openings needed to do the insulating. After that is done we can get the floors refinished. Ed met with a roofing contractor to get an estimate for the new red metal shingles on the lighthouse roof and a red standing seam roof on the privy. There is more work to be completed yet by the electricians. So even though the lighthouse closed for the season there will still be a lot of activity.
While we were working today many visitors commented on how great the light station looks and thanked us for what was done.

Hi Ed,
I was one of the visitors on Monday. Everything looks wonderful. Actually, breath taking.
It was a pleasure to meet you.
Thank You to all of you for your hard work and dedication.
To the “close up crew” – Thank you for all your hard work in preparing the site for winter. The new buildings and updates are remarkable.
We appreicate all that you did to maintain and improve Eagle Bluff Light Station Museum. It will be exciting to open up next season and see the surprised faces on visitors as they take in the new site. We thank you for your efforts all season to make this possible!
