From the Keeper’s Desk – July 16

Greetings!

This week brought more great progress at Eagle Bluff Light Station!

Josh Fletcher delivered and prepped a brand-new screen door for the back entrance of the lighthouse. Not only does it look great—it’s also practical, with interchangeable inserts for both screens and storm panels to suit the seasons.

John H., Jeanne, and Beth were busy applying a second coat of solid-color stain to the summer kitchen. Their work is helping preserve the structure and giving it a clean, refreshed appearance.

Over at the barn, Mike and Billy continued trim work and successfully installed the door for the closet under the stairs. Frankie and Mateo also made good headway by beginning the installation of switches and outlets, following their earlier rough wiring work.

To top it all off, we gathered for a small celebration to recognize the incredible efforts of our workers and volunteers. The summer kitchen was officially put to use for the first time, serving as the hub for food and refreshments—another exciting milestone for this project.

We’re so proud of all that’s been accomplished so far. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our team and the generous support of our community.

If you’d like to help us continue restoring Eagle Bluff Light Station, please consider making a donation. Every gift—large or small—helps us preserve this important piece of Door County history. Click here to donate online or call us at 920-421-2332.
