Make History Shine—Join Our May 17 Clean-Up Crew

Spring is finally here and that means it’s time to get Heritage Village ready for another season of sharing Door County’s history! We’re calling on our incredible community of volunteers to join us for a Clean-Up Day on Saturday, May 17 from 9am – 2pm.

We need your help to clean, organize, and prepare all eight historic buildings in the Village. That includes dusting, sweeping, and setting up displays—plus a little light repair work where needed. We’ll also be tackling landscaping projects to make sure the grounds are looking their best for Opening Day on May 31.

Whether you can spare an hour or a whole day, your time makes a difference. We’ll provide snacks, water, and plenty of good company as we work together to preserve and share the history of our rural crossroad village from 1890–1910.

Volunteers are the heart of the Door County Historical Society. Our small staff simply couldn’t do what we do without your help.

If you’re able to lend a hand, please contact us at 920-421-2332. And if you can’t join us on May 17, consider making a donation to help us grow and sustain the programs and preservation work that make Heritage Village so special.

We hope to see you there—let’s get the Village ready together!
