For a full century, we’ve been preserving, protecting, and sharing the stories that make Door County such a special place. We’ve cared for historic buildings, safeguarded priceless artifacts, recorded family stories, and welcomed generations of visitors to discover our rich local history.
Now it’s time to celebrate—and you’re invited!

Our 100th Birthday Celebration will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, and we’re planning a party worthy of this once-in-a-century milestone.
Think Roaring Twenties! The evening will feature:

Since the Door County Historical Society was founded in 1926, we’re embracing the spirit of the era that started it all. Dust off your flapper dresses, suspenders, fedoras, pearls, and pinstripe suits—we encourage everyone to dress in their best Roaring Twenties attire!
This promises to be one of the biggest celebrations in our organization’s history, and we hope you’ll be part of it.
