There’s something magical about Eagle Bluff Light Station as the sun begins to set over Green Bay.
For just two evenings this fall, you can experience it for yourself when the Door County Historical Society presents its annual Twilight Tours at Eagle Bluff Light Station.
Tickets are now on sale for Saturday, September 26 and Saturday, October 3, from 6:00–8:00 p.m.
Twilight Tours are much more than a traditional lighthouse tour. For these special evenings, Eagle Bluff comes alive with the sights, sounds, music, and stories of the past.
Step Back in Time
As you make your way through the keeper’s residence, you’ll meet costumed interpreters, hear lighthouse poetry and stories from the past, and listen to period-specific live music performed inside the historic home.
Each room offers something different as you imagine what life might have been like for the lighthouse keepers and families who called this remote bluff home more than a century ago.
There’s even more to explore outside the keeper’s residence. Stop by the reconstructed summer kitchen for refreshments, and visit the historic barn, now home to Eagle Bluff’s Welcome Center and gift shop.
And, of course, take a moment to enjoy the view as twilight settles over Green Bay and the surrounding islands.
A Door County Fall Tradition
Twilight Tours have become a favorite fall tradition at Eagle Bluff because they offer a completely different way to experience the lighthouse.
History is meant to be more than names and dates. Sometimes the best way to understand the past is to hear its music, listen to its stories, stand inside the places where people lived, and imagine what it might have felt like to be there.
