Looking for something fun to do this weekend? The Door County Historical Society has two reasons to visit Heritage Village, with hands-on history on Saturday and a sweet community gathering on Sunday.
On Saturday, September 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., join us for Pickle Pouches, a hands-on program exploring a food-preservation tradition that has been a mainstay in households for generations.
Participants will make their own pouch of refrigerator pickles to take home. Vegetables and vinegar will be supplied and pickling pouches will be available to program participants for $5.50 each in the Greene Store. Children over age 10 are welcome with an adult. Pickle Program is free with paid admission to Heritage Village.
Then come back on Sunday, September 13, at 3 p.m. for our FREE Ice Cream Social!
This relaxed afternoon is a chance to enjoy some ice cream, spend time at Heritage Village, meet others who share an interest in Door County history, and learn a little more about the Door County Historical Society.
Everyone is welcome! Current members are encouraged to bring a friend or two, prospective members can come see what DCHS is all about, and former members are especially welcome to reconnect with us. There’s no admission charge for the Ice Cream Social—just come and join the fun.
