The lighthouse restoration is progressing, but significant damage was discovered in the winter kitchen’s wainscoting due to moisture issues. Initiating repairs, all affected wainscoting will be removed to prevent further damage. Meanwhile, work on the barn and summer kitchen continues with installation of insulation and preparations for pouring the foundation slabs.

The foundation walls for the barn and summer kitchen have been completed, with insulation installed afterward. Fitzgerald Construction will backfill next week, followed by conduit placement for plumbing. The floor is anticipated to be poured the Monday after Easter, with framing beginning shortly thereafter. Acknowledgments were given to the team and architect.

Heritage Village is preparing for the season with a Clean-Up Day on May 17, inviting community volunteers to help clean and organize its historic buildings. Tasks include dusting, landscaping, and light repairs, leading up to the opening on May 31. Volunteers can sign up by calling or visiting the website.
