Come for the Farmers Market. Stay for Community.

What makes Door County such a special place?

Is it the scenic shoreline? The small-town charm? The local businesses, parks, festivals, and traditions that make every season memorable?

The truth is, all of those things exist because people care enough to get involved.

On Saturday, June 6, residents and visitors alike are invited to discover how they can be part of what makes Door County thrive at the Door County Volunteer Fair. Held in conjunction with the popular Sturgeon Bay Farmers Market, the Volunteer Fair will take place from 9:00 a.m. to Noon on the second floor of the Door County Fire Company.

Whether you’re a lifelong resident, a seasonal visitor, a recent retiree, a student looking to gain experience, or simply someone who wants to meet new people and make a difference, there is a volunteer opportunity waiting for you.

The Volunteer Fair will bring together organizations from across Door County that rely on volunteers to support their missions. From history and the arts to conservation, education, community services, youth programs, special events, and more, attendees will have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of ways to get involved.

Volunteering isn’t just about giving back—it’s about becoming connected. It’s about meeting people who share your interests, learning new skills, supporting causes you care about, and helping preserve the community that makes Door County such an extraordinary place to live and visit.

And since you’ll probably already be headed to the Farmers Market for fresh produce, baked goods, flowers, coffee, and local treats, why not make a morning of it? Browse the market, then head upstairs to discover how you can make an impact in your community.

You don’t need special skills, endless free time, or years of experience to volunteer. Organizations need people of all backgrounds, interests, and abilities. Whether you can help once a year or once a week, your time and talents matter.

Great communities don’t build themselves. They are built by people who show up.

Join us on Saturday, June 6, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at the Door County Fire Company in Sturgeon Bay. Come curious. Leave inspired.
