Join us for a FREE Ice Cream Social on Sunday, September 13 at 3 p.m. at Heritage Village. It’s a casual opportunity to enjoy some ice cream, meet the people behind DCHS, and discover all the ways we work to preserve and share Door County’s history.
There’s More to DCHS Than You Might Think
For 100 years, the Door County Historical Society has been collecting stories, preserving historic places, caring for artifacts, creating educational programs, and helping people connect with the history of this remarkable place.
Today, DCHS operates Heritage Village in Sturgeon Bay and Eagle Bluff Light Station in Peninsula State Park, but our work extends well beyond our historic sites. Throughout the year, we offer programs and special events, conduct research, collaborate with community partners, preserve local stories, and create opportunities for people of all ages to experience Door County history.
The Ice Cream Social is your chance to learn more about all of it.
There’s no presentation to sit through and no pressure to join. Come have a conversation with us. Ask questions. Meet our members, volunteers, board and staff. Find out what we’re working on and what we have planned for the future.
And, of course, have some ice cream!
Members, Help Us Make an Introduction
If you’re already a DCHS member, we need your help.
Think of one or two people who love Door County, enjoy history, are looking for ways to become involved in the community, or simply might enjoy what DCHS has to offer. Invite them to come with you!
Some of our best new members find us because someone they know says, “You should come see what DCHS is all about.” This is the perfect opportunity to make that introduction.
