Escape to Freedom: A Remarkable Story of Survival

The Door County Historical Society is pleased to help spread the word about an upcoming program hosted by our friends at the Sevastopol Historical Society.

Join them on Sunday, October 18, at 2:00 p.m. at Sevastopol Town Hall for Escape to Freedom, a moving story of survival, resilience, and the journey to a new life in Door County.

Helga Hundt Bobb and her nephew, David Walker, will share the remarkable experiences of six Hundt children who endured tremendous hardships in post-World War II Germany before eventually making their way to Door County.

Walker’s book, Hundting Freedom, will be available for purchase for $15 (cash only).

The program is free and open to the public, with refreshments provided.

Location: Sevastopol Town Hall, 4528 State Highway 57, Institute

We encourage our members and friends to attend and support the Sevastopol Historical Society as they continue their important work of preserving and sharing our community’s history.
